The Lion

I always enjoyed the absurd. In this piece, again part of the Wizard of Oz series, we have the Lion who is imbued with a massive and overwhelmingly large phallus which is far, far to big to do anything with. And so, what we're left with is this Dyonisian macho ideal with no real potency. This strikes a nice, happy and absurd balance between intention and action, power and potency. I faded most of the picture away, leaving only this lone vague figure (very Rodin-esque now that I think about it). And, once again, if you get up nice and close, you'll see the scores, the marks and the little details that the camera always fails to catch.
